If you are planning to book a vacation rental house in South Lake Tahoe this spring, there are plenty of great reasons why March & April are great months to visit. In fact, we have discussed what to do in Lake Tahoe this time of year before. One of the reasons we adore spring in South Lake Tahoe is because it is smack dab in between two different seasons, which is known as our shoulder season. There are a few perks to booking South Lake Tahoe vacation rentals during this time. The first one being that this time of year is usually a little less crowded, which allows you to enjoy the outdoor lounge settings without any disturbances. The second being that trips are a little more affordable during this time as well. Of course, this is all dependent on weather. The third being that you get the best of all of our different weather forecasts. Most of the time anyway. This is usually more in April & May, as this March has been another Miracle March for us. If you booked a vacation rental in South Lake Tahoe in the next couple months, here are some great ways to enjoy our area!
.) Spring skiing. Heavenly just announced that, thanks to all of the new snow fall in the past month, they will be extending their spring skiing until April 22nd. Which means you still have time to get some runs in before the season is up. This also means that even if skiing or snowboarding is not your thing, some of the other winter based attractions such as sledding and snowmobiling are still available. Added bonus? We have South Lake Tahoe vacation rentals located all throughout town that can easily access these attractions.
.) Hiking & biking are still options if you are into those outdoor recreation options. Sure, you will likely encounter snow at some point during your outdoor adventure, but the temperatures usually warm up which makes for a fun experience: sunny blue skies, enjoyable temps for an outside workout while still being surrounded by snow. This usually takes people by surprise as they realize just how versatile our area is. Oh and keep an eye out for waterfalls. As the snow pack starts to melt it is truly beautiful to watch Mother Nature do her thing. Get your camera ready! Added bonus? Several of our South Lake Tahoe vacation rentals have trails just outside their door.
.) Beach days are still a thing. Ask any local, and we will tell you that one of the things we love the most about living here during the spring is we can get a few runs in first thing in the morning and then visit a nearby beach at some point later on in the day. And of course, our vacation rentals in South Lake Tahoe are all located close to local popular beaches!
.) Apres ski and sunny patio happy hours collide. Let’s face it, one of the best things about warmer weather is outside dining and one of the best things after a busy day on the slopes is enjoying some great food and drinks. Throughout town you can find plenty of great menus, live music and dining with a side of fresh air. As we have so many vacation rentals in South Lake Tahoe, you can be at one of these establishments within minutes whether you are staying at the Y or down at Stateline.
