Solar Eclipse in Tahoe 2012
This is going to be a once in a lifetime event for some of us! An annular solar eclipse will be visible on May 20th. A solar eclipse is when the moon passes in between the earth and the sun. This causes either all visibility or partial visibility of the sun to cease for us. An annular solar eclipse is when the moon’s visual diameter appears smaller than the sun’s. So, when the moon passes the sun, we will just be able to see a glowing ring of the sun behind the moon.
This passing will start on the Chinese coast and finish up here in Western United States. This will be the first annual solar eclipse in the continental United States since 1994. Because of this spectacular event, Pinnacle’s Lake Tahoe Getaways will be offering our guests who stay in Tahoe on Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th a FREE night on Sunday the 20th, which is the day of the eclipse. The promo code is Solar2012. Please don’t miss out! This is going to be amazing!
