If you are a long time local, or a frequent winter visitor, you know about The Rahlves’ Banzai Tour. This event that takes place at 3 Lake Tahoe, California resorts is big mountain free-ride racing in it’s purest form. Over the natural mountain terrain and winter conditions, four at a time will go head to head from the top all the way down to the bottom testing skiers and riders on their skills. This is the 5th season of The Rahlves Bonzai Tour and it is bigger and better thanks to all of the top athletes from North America participating against Lake Tahoe locals trying to defend the home turf powder and take the cash prize.
This Lake Tahoe event was created by Daron Rahlves. If you are not familiar, he is a Banzai Master, World Champion, USA Olympic ski racer, Winter X-Games Skier-X Champ and pro big mountain skier. Every year he is the event organizer responsible and puts his Banzai Master title on the line. He doesn’t compete at every event, but he does take a timed run and then makes his big appearance at Sugar Bowl for the final.
