The perk to booking a South Lake Tahoe vacation rental is that you get all the amenities of home…away from home. Not only is this convenient, and a lot of times less money for more space, this gives you a sneak peek at what us locals do and how we live everyday! A lot of our South Lake Tahoe vacation rental listings are smack dab in the middle of our residential neighborhoods with residents who live here all year around. This means you may stumble upon a cute coffee shop down the street you couldn’t find on yelp or a nearby trail that has less traffic. If you are booking a vacation rental in South Lake Tahoe and want more of that local lifestyle, check out these tips:
.) Work it out! South Lake Tahoe has a ton of outdoor recreation, however, we also have a lot of indoor recreation. Our various fitness studios are ran and operated by full time residents and they are all incredibly friendly and motivating. We all have our own fitness routines, so finding a local spin or yoga spot is a great way to get connected, get local tips and spice up your workout. With how many local work out studios and gyms there are, the chances of your vacation rental in South Lake Tahoe being minutes from one is high!
.) Check out our art scene! We have a very big local art network. From art tours to galleries to craft fairs featuring local vendors, there is something for all kinds of artists. Check out TAP (Tahoe Art Project) before you come into town so you get a good idea of what is happening.
.) Have a certain extreme hobby you are obsessed with? Same! From mountain biking to skiing, we have a lot of different organizations that support local outdoor happenings with frequent events. Once again, our South Lake Tahoe vacation rentals are in close proximity to a variety of activities so access will be easy.
.) Eat & drink local. Being a tourist destination, Lake Tahoe has a lot of corporate ran & chain businesses. As our locals work there, we try to frequent and support our own. However, we also have a lot of great locally owned, unique breweries, bars and eateries. If you want to hear what the locals are chatting about, head to one and perk up your ears. They may have a great tip or recommendation for where to go next!
