If you love Lake Tahoe as much as we do, chances are you have been seriously impressed with the amount of snow Mother Nature has dropped on our beloved town. Especially after a few dry winters that have left several locals, seasonal locals and visitors scratching their heads. After all, Lake Tahoe is an all year round destination drawing in roughly 3 million visitors year round. However, every person likely has their favorite season up here at the Lake. For some of us, it is Summer, for others it is Winter and for some-we simply couldn’t choose if we tried. Regardless of your favorite season, one thing is for sure and that is how much we NEEDED this snow. Our 3 South Lake Tahoe local ski resorts have brought in between 287 inches to 322 inches. Not only have our ski resorts been getting some precipitation, Lake Tahoe itself has seen a rise in the water level. In fact, as of a couple weeks ago, the water level rose 8 inches and we are currently less than 11 inches away from the natural rim level. The other great perk to all this white fluffy stuff? The local economy gets a much needed boost. Our casinos, ski resorts, Lake Tahoe vacation rental companies, and locally owned businesses rely on good weather and heavy foot traffic from visitors to keep their doors open. The continual storms have had such a positive impact already and the best part? It has been forecasted that we should continue enjoying this good weather through spring. For more specifics, head on over to the good folks at Tahoe South and check out this great press release about all the snow we have received so far!
