It’s Snowing!
It’s a winter wonderland in Lake Tahoe again! After a very dry season so far, the snow dances have finally paid off.
A low pressure system that is moving its way across California has kicked started today off with light to moderate snow resulting in between 2 – 4 inches at lake level.
This pressure tapers off tonight leaving Tuesday with clear skies before the next storm rolls.
There is a winter storm warning that will begin on Tuesday night and will remain in effect until Wednesday at 10pm.
Snow accumulations could fall anywhere between 1 to 3 feet above 6,500 feet.
Southwest to west winds could reach up to 50 mph with ridge gusts up to 100 mph being a possibility.
As exciting as this beneficial storm is to pow seekers in our community, we need to be aware that low visibility and strong winds could hinder traveling.
Please be careful while driving so we can all safely enjoy (hopefully) some much needed snow days!
